I think i have heard the cancer word too many times in the last month.... 1st it was about my thyroid and ruling out cancer.... now the cancer word got thrown around with my dog. :( She's had this bump on her snout for about 1.5-2months now. At first we thought it was a bee sting or spider bite, so we watched it, seemed to be going away and then it'd get bigger again. We thought maybe she bumped her face on the wall or dresser(her bed is next to a dresser) so we watched it, but it was not going away....so we took her to the vet....of course cancer/tumor was in the back of my mind....she is a Katrina Hurricane rescue and i have NO idea what chemicals and hazardous materials she was exposed to back then.....but anyways, so the Dr. said it's either an abessesed tooth OR it could be a tumor or bone cancer.... he thinks that if it were to be bone cancer that she'd be dead by now. But it could still be a cancerous tumor..... We're going to treat with antibodics first for 10 days and if it doesn't go down, then we'll get a x-ray and then we'll take it from there...it they still aren't sure off the x-ray then we'd take her to a speicalist who'd take a biopsy of the bone to rule out cancer. we're hoping obviously that it's just an absess and eventually we'll probably have to take the tooth out. He did mention that it's not the normal tooth that would normally be abessesed...so who knows.
Ya know if it's not me or the baby, it's the dog....i have heard the word cancer way to much this month and it'd be nice if that word would just go away.
